Count on 24 years of Minnesota court experience

Attentive and responsive legal representation

I have provided quality legal services to clients in Elk River and surrounding communities for more than 20 years.

I have gained valuable experience serving client needs, whether they involve advocating creative settlement solutions or necessary litigation in the courtroom.

I focus my practice on family law. I represent all types of individuals in divorce, legal separation, custody and paternity, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance,

and foster care and stepparent adoption matters.

My representation ranges from document preparation in uncontested proceedings to cases involving complex claims and high-value marital estates. I provide attentive and responsive representation tailored to individual client needs.

I also have extensive experience as a public defender in Sherburne County representing clients in paternity, contempt, and commitment matters.

I am aware of the impact of and added challenges posed by mental health issues, chemical dependency, and domestic abuse.

Trained in family law mediation

I am a 1992 graduate of Hamline University School of Law, and I am a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.

I am pleased to now offer family law mediation services for parties seeking to resolve their case prior to litigation or other court involvement.

I am also formally trained and provide services as an Early Neutral Evaluator for both Social Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE) and Financial Early Neutral Evaluations (FENE) as yet another method parties may select to resolve their case early in the divorce process.

Ethically centered and involved in the bar

I have worked hard to gain my reputation as a professional and ethical attorney. I served a six-year term as a member of the 18th District Ethics Committee, serving as a volunteer ethics investigator who reports to the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility.

I also currently serve as Treasurer of the 18th District Bar Association.
