I have provided quality legal services to clients in Elk River and surrounding communities for over 30 years.
I have gained valuable experience serving client needs, whether they involve advocating creative settlement solutions or necessary litigation in the courtroom.
I focus my practice on family law. I represent all types of individuals in divorce, legal separation, custody and paternity, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance,
and foster care and stepparent adoption matters.
My representation ranges from document preparation in uncontested proceedings to cases involving complex claims and high-value marital estates. I provide attentive and responsive representation tailored to individual client needs.
I also have extensive experience as a public defender in Sherburne County representing clients in paternity, contempt, and commitment matters.
I am aware of the impact of and added challenges posed by mental health issues, chemical dependency, and domestic abuse.
I am a 1992 graduate of Hamline University School of Law and have been a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice since 2015.
As a Qualified Neutral, I offer and provide family law mediation services for both represented and unrepresented parties seeking to resolve their case prior to litigation or other court involvement.
I am also formally trained and provide services as an Early Neutral Evaluator for both Social Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE) and Financial Early Neutral Evaluations (FENE) as yet another method parties may select to resolve their case early in the divorce process.
I have worked hard to gain my reputation as a professional and ethical attorney. I served a six-year term as a member of the 18th District Ethics Committee, serving as a volunteer ethics investigator who reports to the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility.
I have been an active member of the 18th District Bar Association and currently serve on the Anoka County Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) Steering Committee.
